Fourth of July and Matt's Birthday Party

Our weekend of fun started right after work on Friday and didn't end until LATE Monday night. We had Matt's b'day party at the lake and got to enjoy being with the family on Saturday. Then on Sunday we enjoyed a relaxing day on the water we tried to teach Maddie how to ski but it didn't work thanks to myself...I showed her a picture of a fish that one of her friends from school Dad caught and underneath that picture in the paper was a photo of an absolutely gigantic cat fish from Britain and she thought that, that fish was caught at Smith Lake and was scared to be in the water by herself. Anyway, that was fine because the water was choppy and don't think that it would have been a good day to teach her. Monday evening was just spectacular. We went out on the water and watched the fireworks and Maddie and I saw a shooting star. It was Maddie's first shooting star to see and she was beside herself. She has prayed for the past three years that she would get to see a shooting star.

A Evening with Jesslyn

Finally I got to visit Jesslyn...the day after her and Cameron were born I ended up sick and couldn't get to visit her for almost three weeks. It was driving me crazy. She is so adorable. Maddie, Alex and I got some good Jesslyn lovin. Now I just got to get to Cameron, which isn't going to happen until the Saturday after we get back from vacation, to get some baby lovin from him.

Swimming and Good Food

"Can I go Swimming" are the only words I heard when I walked in the door Friday afternoon from work so Splish Splash we went staight in the pool for a quick little dip. Then off to get Alex's hair cut we went and then we enjoyed a little trip to Bass Pro Shop. We snacked on some pecans and ice cream as we shopped around. Then we ended our night with dinner at Flip Flip burgers on 280. Can we say YUMMY to my Tummy. My babes thought it was awesome drinking out of glass bottles, and sitting on the patio overlooking the city lights enjoying our delicious dinner.

Fathers Day 2010 weekend

Our weekend started off with a couple of shopping trips to purchase two presents for two of the Greatest Men.... my Daddy and Father-in-law. Then a nice drive with the windows down, music turned up and the family singing all the way to the lake house. Once we got there we went pretty much straight to bed to get ready for a fun Saturday. Saturday morning arrived with a wonderful time of cuddleing with the babes and a wonderul breakfast that Amy cooked. After breakfast we all went out side and did a little grass cutting, and weeding eating and then to the fun we went. We went and launched the boat and enjoyed the rest of the day relaxing cruising up and down the lake and intertubing. Then the we ended the day with some yummy nachos and bed time stories. Sunday morning came early....and it was rushed, like all Sunday mornings. After a wonderful day at church we went to my parents to enjoy some swimming with the kids and grilled some yummy food and then topped the day off getting Luke his costa sunglasses and a trip to Yogort Mountain. This was an interested trip but all worth it. The fathers received free ice cream so the line was wrapped around the building. You can see the pictures of our ice cream before and after our indulging event. WOW..I wish I was back there now. It was sooo good. However it cost $32 for 4 ice creams....so it better have been good.

Memorial Day Weekend 2010

After work on Friday we went to church for painting and pizza, to decorate for VBS...we were there until 12:30. The police even came by to check and make sure everything was okay. Saturday, morning came quiet early. We got up and went to Alex's awards (closing ceremony) at the ball park. He got his first trophy. You should have seen his face light up when they gave him it. It was priceless. We went and celebrated his first trophy at Sonic with Pa. Then we went and met up with Michael and Katie and went to the Cahaba Lily festavil in West Blocton. The actual festival itself was boring however it all turned out loads of fun when went on our own to explore the lilys. We started out looking at the old Coke mines both Alex and Maddie loved finding old coke and coal on the ground. They collected a big bag full of it. Then we went to the Cahaba River and waded in the river all the way out to the lilly patches. The current was strong but was soo fun fighting it to get out to the patches. We ended the night eating at the Tiger Hut it was yummy. Once again, morning came soo early. We got up and went to church and all my little babies in my one year old class were extremely good today. However, we clean several poops...yuck. That has to be the worst part about that age. The funny of the day came from Alexander, he told his teaches in Sunday school that his Mommy was going to have him two baby brothers and one was going to big a little black boy named Tate and the other one was going to be named Hunting Man. After church we ended up taking Maddie to the doctor because she has a funky looking spot on her arm that is infected and the infection looked like it was getting worse. All the doctors that looked at it didn't know what it was. The only thing they knew was it had infection in it and they needed to get her on some antibotics. So, that wasn't fun. Maddie got her first prescription in pill form....she thinks she is just all that for getting a big girl form of medicine. Monday is gonig to be lots of fun too, we are going to take the pool cover off and get it ready and have some good food.

Weekend of Fun

Well our weekend started off with a boom on Friday ...Maddie Mae had a fun day at school with an ice cream party celebrating the last day of school. She was extremely excited to have her Mama and Daddy come enjoy the fun with her. After her classes time at fun day we checked her out. She hugged Ms. Lagle and told her she loved her, had a wonderful 1st grade year and was going to miss her. We went and picked Alex up and went to the movies the men went to Ironman and the ladies we went to see Letters to Juliet. We all loved our movies. Then we shopping at the Galleria. As we were leaving the Galleria we passed by a new store named P.S. Aeropostles. It was great....Maddie found all sorts of items she wanted. Saturday morning we went to Alex's came and he played his best game this season. He stopped a run on second then hit a coach pitched ball to the out field straight down the first and seconde bases. After the game we went to deliver flyers at a car show to advertise the Mexico Misson trip Car Show at church...anyway we promised the kids we would get them an ice cream from the ice cream man that was at the car show. However, the ice cream left before we could get to him... Alex was beside himself. Anyway, right before we hit the interstate Alex spotted an ice cream man truck and let me tell you Luke whipped the truck around and chased him down all the way into the hood. Yes it was adventure but we got him a ice cream treat that he got all over him. Maddie and I once we got home did manicures on each other...I love my Mommy Maddie Mae time together. Sunday was a wonderful day of celebration....we went to Harriet's baby shower for Jesslyn's homecoming. Wow she got lots of goodies. Then afterwards Alex went to play with Owen, which he was suppose to do during the shower, and didn't because he was catching up on some z's. The played hunting man and had a bomb pop on the front porch. Cage, Alex's other friend invited him over on Monday to play in the water with him because he want to play with Alex before he had his minor surgery on Tuesday. I always have to hold my breath when they are together. Look at the picture they almost flipped the power wheels arti cat when they tried to climb a big ball like it was a mountain.

Fun Spring night

I first started my evening off with my work running club that started up 3 weeks ago. We are training to run the Mercedes Marathon. Anyway, we ran approximately one mile and walked one in under 30 minutes which I feel is not bad for a group of ladies that just started running. Then I dropped Luke off to go look at a side job and I took off to t-ball practice with Alex. Alex hates practices but loves games...now if they let him hit all the time we would have no issues. He loves to bat. Then we came home and Luke had already gotten home by this point and we grilled some yummy chicken on the grill and made Santa Fe Chicken which is one of my favorites. Luke isn't to fond of it...the kiddos love it so guess what Luke is out of luck on this dinner selection. He can just eat the chicken, rice and corn separately. This dish always such beautiful colors.

Luke's 2010 upcoming Mexico Mission Trip

July will be here before we will know it. We are well under way with fund raising and need just $3000.00 more for the team to be completely paid. We have two more fundraisers left. The Boston Butt sale and the Car Show. Anyway we received this picture of all the kids that we will be working with on this trip to the orphanage. We will be hosting a vbs for them along with painting and some small repairs for them. If you or know of anyone that would like a boston butt please let us know we need to sale 10 outside of the church and we have just one sold. They are 25 dollars a piece and very delicious.

Alex's first fish

We went to Blake's birthday party and a couple of the boys wanted to go to their pond and fish....Of course you know "hunting man" wanted to. So, we took him to the pond. We used bread balls as the bait. I had never used bread before to catch a fish. He first caught a little catfish then he caught a good size brim..I couldn't get a picture of the brim b/c my phone battery died and that is the only camera I had on me. DANG IT.

My Daughter Accepted Jesus into her Heart

What a special event occurred in my Maddie Mae's life this Sunday the 16th of May 2010. Several months ago (9-9-09) she was in a Wednesday night service and the lesson was on Jesus walking on water and calling the fishermen to walk to him. Anyway Steven Hicks are children's minister asked at the end of the lesson if Jesus called you would you sink or walk. Well, afterwards Maddie went into Steven's office and told him that she wanted to walk and she believed Jesus had died on the cross for her and she wanted to read more about becoming a Christian. He gave her the "How to become a Christian" workbook to read. Anyway she had it read the first night. However, Luke and I felt she was too young to understand completely the seriousness this event would hold in her life. She was constantly asking when can I become a Christian from that night on. After Luke and I asked her a ton of questions, prayed and read the workbook with her several times we decided she was ready. We set up a meeting with Steven to pray with us on Cinco DA Mayo. During our meeting with Steven he asked several questions and my sweet daughter was so moved that Maddie started crying and got in my lap and we cried together and then we all prayed together and she accepted Jesus into her heart. My heart was so happy. Then on Mother's Day she went down in front of the church to Dr. Kevin Blackwell our pastor and publicly confessed her sins and the church agreed to accept her as a member of the church. Sunday, May 16th she was baptized by Steven. We had soo many family member and friends attend. (Granddaddy, Meme, Pa, Tammy, Jason, Britt Britt, Pat, Mamie, Madison, Amy, Laren, Aunt Gail, Uncle Richard, Katie, Michael, Lori, Dale, Owen, Harriet, Buff, Griff and Alex)...Memama didn't feel good and Dave had to stay at home with Matt he broke his thumbs the day before at the All for Nana Tea Party. After the service we all went to Habenaros Mexican restaurant to celebrate. It was a wonderful day and how I love having such a wonderful Christian based family that I know will help us raise and support my baby girl as she grows in her christian faith. If you don't know Jesus loves you and haven't accepted him into your heart I would love to discuss it with you. Thank you Jesus for guiding Luke and I as parents and giving Maddie Mae eternal life along with us.
